Assignment
Chevron needed a preliminary geotechnical site investigation for FEED design and land reclamation for the Angola LNG facility in order to receive recommendations prior to constructing the LNG plant.

Our Role
Golder's role included:

• Mobilisation and execution of high quality site investigation in a remote location in West Africa
• Shallow offshore drilling and in situ testing
• Magnetometer surveys to clear drilling locations for unexploded ordnance left from the civil war
• Concrete aggregate search across Angola
• Assessment of slope stability and settlement of land reclamation on soft organic clays
• Pile foundations
• Ground treatment alternatives
