Golder Associates Names New Anchorage Office Manager
Dec 28, 2009
Anchorage, AK—Golder Associates Inc., a leading consultant in ground engineering and environmental services, appointed Mark Musial as office manager for its Anchorage, Alaska office. Musial joined Golder in January 1985 as the office's third professional employee and first junior engineer. During these early years he worked on projects that helped establish the office in the Alaskan community, including coal mine pit and spoil stability, design of the first phase of the Anchorage Regional Landfill, and development of the use of spray ice to build oil exploration islands in the Beaufort Sea. Later he participated in the growth of the office in response to work along the Trans Alaska Pipeline, expansion of transportation and power transmission networks, and an increased public awareness of contaminated sites across the state. He has remained active in professional groups throughout his career, as well as serving on municipal and community boards. Musial is responsible for managing growth of the Alaskan operation as it doubles in size while continuing to provide support for our Canadian, European, and Australian companies as work in the circum-arctic increases. The expanded Alaskan operations include three internationally recognized experts in cold regions and permafrost engineering, and state-of-the-art capabilities in frozen ground testing.
