Golder EHS Leader Receives Distinguished Service Award for Industrial Hygiene Contributions

Pittsburgh, PA -- The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) has awarded Loren Anderson, CIH, ROH, the 2012 Distinguished Service Award for his role in the advancement of industrial hygiene and unique technical contributions to the aims and goals of AIHA.

Anderson is Global Environmental Health and Safety Service Leader at Golder Associates and has served on the AIHA Board of Directors as both a director and treasurer. Additionally, he has served on the editorial review board of the Journal of Applied Occupational and Environmental Hygiene, as well as contributing technical expertise to several AIHA committees. In recent years he has participated in OSHA's Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) Stakeholder group to assist OSHA in outlining options to address the issue of outdated Permissible Exposure Limits (PELs). He was an invited speaker at the first US/China IH symposium held in Beijing, and has published more than a dozen articles on industrial health issues. A previous recipient of the Edward J. Baier Technical Achievement Award, Anderson continues to significantly contribute to both the association and the profession.
