Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability

Making a difference in the lives of people, everywhere.

At Golder, we care deeply about our lasting impact on the world and the communities in which we live and work. We weave our values into every activity, pursuing the highest standards of corporate social responsibility in all that we do. This is reflected in how we manage our operations, serve our clients, support and empower our people and contribute to society.

Addressing the challenges of economic and environmental sustainability.
Individually and collectively each of us has a stake in protecting our world and ensuring it works better for all while balancing the needs of businesses and communities. We harness our knowledge to help clients achieve their business goals while minimizing the environmental impacts of their operations.

Guiding people and organizations to achieve a more sustainable future.
Working with our clients to achieve sustainable development goals is always a rewarding effort. We can help choose the direction of the future, taking the right fork on the road to solving some of the most pressing problems facing the environment and today’s society.

Whether it’s through the restoration of environments or innovative design that attends to the needs of the triple bottom line, paving the way for sustainable economic prosperity — Golder is answering the call, working with our clients to achieve economic growth through development and application of sustainable solutions.

Golder Trust for Orphans

As part of our commitment to sustainability, our employees formed the Golder Trust for Orphans in 2003 to provide support to children and families in Africa who have been orphaned or displaced by the AIDS pandemic.

The Trust provides funding to groups engaged in sustainable projects, to permanently support their charitable work. We also provide one-time grants to organizations looking for immediate aid.

To date, our efforts are supporting over 2,500 children in Africa.

In Australia, we’re committed to developing stronger connections with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations, and to supporting employment opportunities. Our Reconciliation Action Plan  formalises this commitment and provides a framework to help us bring it to life across our business operations.

Code of Conduct

Our more than 50 years of consistent financial performance and success are a testament to the vision of our founders to build a lasting, multi-generational enterprise rooted in technical and client service excellence.

To preserve this legacy and uphold our reputation, we are continually improving how we conduct our business. We adopt best practices in the areas of governance, health and safety, development of our people, business relationships, client service, technical excellence, innovation and environmental management.

Our Code of Conduct outlines our broad commitment that “Golder does not engage in acts of corruption or bribery.” The Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption Policy is in response to our need for a defined global, coordinated commitment to comply with all anti-corruption and anti-bribery laws in the countries in which we do or intend to do business. This policy addresses the challenges in conducting business ethically worldwide and guides all employees, but especially those who may face these challenges in the course of their work.

In alignment with the Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption Policy, the Gifts, Entertainment & Contributions Policy prohibits improper giving and receiving of gifts, entertainment, and financial contributions.

While it’s only three pages in length, the Code of Conduct anchors more than 6,500 people to the enduring values we believe in.
