Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (CMOS) Congress
The Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (CMOS) brings together scientists annually to present on topics spanning meteorology, oceanography and related environmental sciences. Golder is proud to be invited to present at the 2021 Congress, on the theme of Climate Change Risk Resilience Response.

Variability of the Beaufort Ice-Ocean Environment: A Synthesis Report
June 1, 2021
Over the past decade, scientists from Amundsen Science, in collaboration with IMG-Golder (Golder) and Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), have worked to characterize the physical environment of the Beaufort Sea. The team has been invited to present the results at CMOS.
The Beaufort Sea Synthesis Report on the ice and ocean conditions includes a summary of observations from the integrated Beaufort Observatory and related oceanographic programs. The study team identified seasonal and inter-annual trends and variability in the ice-ocean environment.
Results of the study provide the basis for further integration with Arctic policies and strategies requiring a robust description of the physical environment of the Beaufort Sea.
Presenters: Phil Osborne (Golder), Alexandre Forest (Amundsen Science), Humfrey Melling (Institute of Ocean Sciences – Fisheries and Oceans Canada)
