
CANECT 2019 – Environmental Compliance and Due Diligence Training Event
CANECT 2019, Canada’s annual training event on Environmental compliance and due diligence is taking place May 7- 9, 2019 in Vaughan, Ontario. This year, you can choose from eight practical courses to keep up to date with new environmental regulations and expand your awareness and best practices.
During this important knowledge share, Golder’s Sean Capstick, Senior Air Quality and Climate Change Specialist and Jill Baker, Senior Environmental Assessment Specialist will be chairing the course:  Navigating the Federal and Provincial EA and Permitting Processes: A Guide to the New Rules. Presented by our own Kate Liubansky, Air Quality Specialist, Rodney Northey, from Gowling WLG (Canada) LLP and Jane Glassco, Assistant Director from Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks, this course will answer all your questions to the new Impact Assessment Act and new Provincial permitting requirements.

The new Impact Assessment Act, Bill C-69, sets up new rules for Federal environmental assessments. During this one-day course, Golder will describe the main aspects of the act. In addition, a discussion of how the updates will contribute to an efficient and consistent approach to gaining, managing and maintaining approvals and authorizations.
Feedback from the Ministry of Environment Conservation and Parks Environment Activity and Sector Registry compliance pilot program will also be presented, including the most common issues identified.
