XI Seminario Ekos Brasil – XI International Seminar for Remediation and Redevelopment of Contaminated Sites
Golder is a proud Gold Sponsor of Seminario EKOS Brasil 2018, Latin America’s largest and most comprehensive conference on all things remediation and revitalization of land. Oliver Maurer, Major Accounts Manager at Golder and member of the organizing committee, along with Golder Specialists, will be at hand for questions during this 2-day congress. We are also looking forward to contributing to this important knowledge share through our technical presentation: Reducing Environmental Remediation Costs using Repurposed Materials, presented by Golder’s Jeff Paul, Principal and Senior Practice Leader.
Title: Reducing Environmental Remediation Costs using Repurposed Materials
Speaker: Jeff Paul, Principal and Senior Practice Leader (Atlanta, GA)
The cost of environmental remediation has, in many cases, been reduced by using in-situ techniques in place by the old methods of excavation and disposal or pump and treat. However, significant further cost savings and increased sustainability can occur using repurposed materials in the in-situ process. This presentation focuses on two multi-million $US remediation jobs and at the other scale a few thousands spent on use of modified air sparge and reactive permeable walls. These presentation aims to compare sustainable remediation using repurposed materials with virgin remediation amendments and methods.
