TURNING DIGITAL GEOLOGY INTO ART
THE VIRTUAL TOUR

Golder was engaged by Development Victoria in 2019 to investigate geological conditions and assess a site occupied by Testing Grounds, a temporary arts space, for future development as part of the Melbourne Arts Precinct Transformation project in Australia.

Adopting the latest digital engineering tools, our experts developed 3D models to present the geology of the site – and then turned them into art to showcase how the fascinating geology of Melbourne’s arts precinct evolved over the last 3.5 million years.

Explore how we turned digital geology into art.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BUILD A 3D MODEL?

Michael Webster, Engineering Geologist at Golder, explains how we build 3D models and their benefits.

A GLIMPSE OF THE OPENING NIGHT
