The Government of Canada’s Trade Commission Service (TCS) recently collaborated with the Clean Resource Innovation Network (CRIN) to release a fact sheet promoting Canada’s Cleantech Industry titled “Bringing Innovative Land And Wellsite Reclamation Technologies To The Oil And Gas Sector.” Golder was one of a select group of companies included on this fact sheet.
POWER IN COLLABORATION
The TCS helps Canadian businesses, organizations and educational institutions succeed and innovate in global markets, and brings international investment into Canadian communities.
The CRIN is a pan-Canadian network focused on ensuring Canada’s energy resources can be sustainably developed and integrated into the global energy supply. CRIN supports the development of groundbreaking clean tech solutions through collaboration and cleaner energy production.
This follows on the Canadian government’s COVID-19 Economic Response Plan (see “resources” below) that included up to $1.7 billion in funding for the cleanup of oil and gas sites across Western Canada, as announced earlier this year. This funding is an opportunity for oil and gas producers and licensees to address outstanding environmental liabilities and contribute to Canada’s economic activity.
Comments by Jean-Philippe Linteau, director, Cleantech Sector with the Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) of Global Affairs Canada, to a Cleantech Global Workshop at the Global Petroleum Show in 2019 indicate that Canada is committed to be a leader in this arena: “The momentum and support for innovation and cleantech has never been stronger — we are working to bring integrated solutions to the industry and to support innovative firms.” (Source)
As a part of the TCS/CRIN select list of global clean technology companies, Golder is focused on supporting the oil and gas industry’s requirements for sustainable and cost-effective land remediation and reclamation though the application of innovative solutions that improve environmental conditions while minimizing costs and liabilities.
Golder is actively engaged in this important work, with hundreds of upstream wellsites already on progression to closure across Canada. Because of this experience, the Golder team is able to work alongside clients to quickly identify the best strategies, tools, and cost-saving approaches to get sites remediated and reclaimed efficiently.
