Leading global engineering and consulting firm Golder today announced the release of version 8 of its FracMan® software. Launched in 1987, FracMan® is the world’s first commercially available Discrete Fracture Network (DFN) software and has since been adopted by organisations across the infrastructure, mining, energy, power, and nuclear waste sectors. FracMan® Version 8 brings improvements such as new DFN simulation features and enhanced model visualisation.
“In FracMan® 8, we built even further on the software’s comprehensive DFN simulation features. Users will see great improvements, combining more physics with greater detailed models,” said Mark Cottrell, Technical Director at Golder in Europe. “This all-new version provides substantial DFN advances in multiple key areas, from fracture characterisation, using photogrammetry and DFN conditioning through to scalable multi-physics flow simulation, and more representative fractured rock mass geotechnical analyses.”
FracMan® users are now even better equipped to deliver outstanding characterisations, analysis and modelling work leading to better decision making in less time.
The roll-out of this update for Golder clients is underway and users will be contacted to update their installation. All FracMan® clients under maintenance agreements are eligible for the update and can request it by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
