Golder has been recognized by Mutual de Seguridad for reaching the outstanding record of 7 million hours of work with no lost-time accidents. Mutual de Seguridad, a private, non-profit organization based in Chile, is focused on risk prevention activities, services and treatment of occupational accidents and diseases. This achievement is significant considering the hours of field work and Construction Quality Assurance services performed by Golder professionals in client operations at work sites throughout the country.
The 7-million-hour milestone is equivalent to a decade of work with no accidents. Golder’s Regional Manager for Latin America, Jorge R. Bermúdez, declared: “This is a special recognition for our team in Chile because this award focuses on our interdependent health and safety culture which is built on caring and teamwork that is shared all Golder employees. This pledge is visible and felt through the different levels within our organization, from our Global CEO to Regional Leaders, to project managers and employees in the field who perform their jobs in a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible manner. Everyone at Golder is empowered to exercise the right to refuse unsafe work and to take appropriate steps to stop unsafe work where necessary, and we live up to this commitment.”
The award is recognition of the Golder team’s vision and values and the effort to deliver excellent services that make a difference and add value to our work. This distinction is a source of pride for our team in Chile, especially in consideration of the restrictions imposed by COVID-19 and the health and safety challenges of adapting to the new requirements, environments, and work conditions.
