Golder Associates will join the dialogue at a widely attended conference on employee ownership in the United Kingdom on November 17 and 18.
Entitled “Better Business Together,” and hosted by the Employee Ownership Association, this annual gathering provides the opportunity for both experienced and aspiring employee owners to learn best practices and find out more about the significant benefits employee ownership can deliver.
Golder is one of the key sponsors for the EOA Annual Conference 2014, to be held at East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham, UK. We have been EOA members since 2006.
We will participate on two panels, with Conor Wall, Principal in the Naas, Ireland office, talking about “What Does It Mean To Be An Employee Owner,” and Chris McDonald, Principal in the Nottingham office, on a panel addressing “Successful Employee Engagement.”
Golder views sharing insights from our own employee ownership journey, through associations like the EOA, to be highly valuable. Our history and commitment to broad employee ownership is part of the impetus behind our creation of the not-for-profit Golder Foundation.
The Foundation strives to share Golder’s business legacy story and to provide a forum where other organisations who are exploring employee ownership as a business model can access insight and knowledge gleaned from this journey. In the field of consulting engineering, Golder was one of the first to stress not only direct ownership but also development of wide ownership within the firm.
Besides employee ownership, the Golder Foundation also has two other areas of focus:
- Technical archives, to enable current and future generations to explore the technical knowledge developed by Golder professionals
- An annual awards program, in its inaugural year, to recognize graduate-level students undertaking research on important topics in Golder’s core service offerings. The first two awards will be in Ground Engineering and Contaminated Site Assessment and Remediation. See the website for further details and entry deadline.
