We are proud to announce Golder’s Rachel Kirkman was recently appointed to the North Carolina Board of Licensing Geologists (NCBLG) for a 3-year term. With a 16% growth in geoscience jobs projected by 2022, there is a critical need for building capacity and excellence in the field, with strong standards of practice and oversight. The NCBLG is made up of five members appointed by the Governor plus the State Geologist who are tasked with providing information and guidance about geology licenses for individuals and corporations operating within the state of North Carolina. As a member of the NCBLG, Rachel will work to ensure all licensed geologists in NC adhere to the professional code of conduct for licensed geologists: “to safeguard the life, health, property and welfare of the public and to establish and maintain a high standard of integrity, skills, and practice in the profession of geology…”
