The SMART Green Program will be officially launched November 8, 2016, during the Energy 2016 conference, and Golder Associates is proud to be one of the few approved Qualified Technical Service Providers (QTSP).
The SMART Green Program is currently accepting applications for funding grants to support the transition to the Ontario Cap and Trade Program which begins in January 2017, when manufacturing companies will be subject to increased energy costs.
With this Program the Government of Ontario, in collaboration with the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME), is targeting small to medium-sized manufacturers who are not participating or have not registered to participate in the Cap and Trade Program. This initiative aims to stimulate and encourage capital investments from manufacturers on finding innovative ways to reduce their GHG emissions.
As a QTSP for the SMART Green Program, Golder Associates is qualified to assist companies that are eligible and interested in benefiting from the available funds. We have the expertise to support clients with GHG inventory and verification, energy audits, and GHG mitigation through energy management. This is the perfect timing for businesses to take the opportunity to reflect on their carbon footprint and make changes to their processes or supply chain.
Golder is experienced and positioned in the locations that have implemented a Cap and Trade Program, such as the province of Quebec and the state of California. We are looking forward to leveraging this experience to support manufacturing companies and to play our role in Ontario’s fight against climate change.
