PV Solar Plant Development

Golder evaluated sites for the PV solar plant development in conjunction with Power Engineers. The feasibility assessment was prepared examining interconnection points during the initial phase of the project. The study examined the existing SCE transmission system and evaluated possible interconnection points on that system, as well as planned systems. In addition, the evaluation included consideration of current Southern California Edison (SCE) projects and other projects in the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) queue location in the Tehachapi Renewable Region. The second phase will be to evaluate environmental issues such as topography of the site, solar intensities for the area, and other potential environmental concerns including the presence of threatened and endangered species and the cost of mitigation. It will also involve preparing an environmental fatal flaw analysis.
