A long term safety case was prepared for the Radioactive Waste Treatment and Disposal Facility to support the safety enhancement program. Preparing project plan was also the part of the contract. The project contained an operational safety assessment for prolonging the operational licence of the interim storage facility.
Our Role
Long term safety assessment and safety case was carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the safety upgrade program. Long term radiological consequences and short term operational doses were compared to determine the number of vaults to be upgraded.
Project plan in detail was required that makes Client able to carry out a public procurement process.
Operational safety was examined to prolong the operational license of the interim storage facility and Waste Acceptance Criteria was derived using the results of the safety assessment.
